The Lecore Flame Arrestor is designed specifically to meet the requirements of the Petro-Chemical, Oil and Chemical Industries to prevent propagation of an external flame into the storage tank vapor space. Combustible gases inhaled into the tank are forced to pass through a tube bank consisting of a large number of passages of small cross sectional area parallel with the gas flow, thus cooling the gas to a temperature too low to support combustion. The tube bank is contained in a shell and the combined tube bank and shell is easily removed for inspection and cleaning.
The Lecore Flame Arrestor has ASA 150 flat face flanges for connection to the storage tank roof nozzle and the pressure/vacuum vent. Should a weather cowl be required instead of a pressure/vacuum vent, the upper flange of the flame arrestor is drilled to suit the four weather cowl supporting studs
